This is an interesting plant having been discovered only relatively recently in 1985.It is native to the steep rocky slopes of the state Jalisco in Mexico at an altitude of around 2000m.It is normally solitary but will offset as a mature plant.It has a wonderful close-knit spination with dazzling white radials contrasting with strong black/brown slightly hooked centrals.The shell-pink flowers arrive early Spring in rings around the top of the plant
